Kona Kakes makes the type of cakes that I would wake up in the middle of the night just to eat-- they're that good. Anyone who knows me knows that I love cakes and all sweets, but I also love sleep. Here, I would pick cake over sleep, so that's saying something.

They make Hawaiian/Asian style cakes where the cake is soft and spongey like angel food cake and the frosting is a whipped topping that is light and fluffy, but not overly sweet. (Those who want the super sweet buttercream cake that sticks to your teeth and then to your thighs should look elsewhere.) The cake flavors are much better than your average grocery store: delicious chocolate coconut macademia, caramel macademia, and exotic tropical flavors like guava and passionfruit.

I am not a sweets person but this place has the most amazing cakes EVER. It's so light and fluffy that you could eat them all day. It's also different not your typical cakes since its tropical cakes. The people there are very friendly and kind.

My first experience there was having them make me a Black Forest cake. They don't make Black Forest cakes, but they did it anyway. They specialize in the more tropical of cakes. Whenever I get some Pho next door I stop by for a slice of cake. The guava cream may blow your mind. I hate frosting but they make it so damn good here! If cakes are your thing, you need to try them out!
