Having eaten the Hawaii original for years (from Dee Lite Bakery, 1930 Dillingham Blvd. in Kalihi -- right across the street from Oh-Triple-See; O'ahu Community Correctional Center), Kona Kakes makes a credible knockoff.

The family favorite here is the guava chiffon, followed by the macadamia cream. Kudos to the staff for their great and courteous customer service!
